1. Why are wholesalers and distributors no longer permitted to offer complimentary line cleaning after January 1, 2025?

In July 2024, NC Senate Bill 527, ABC Omnibus 2023-24 was passed into law by the NC General Assembly. Within the law, Section 32  stipulates that as of January 1, 2025 it will become illegal for alcohol manufacturers, bottlers, and wholesalers to clean draft lines for retailers unless the retailer pays a fair market value. While some providers may address compliance by initiating service fees others may choose to discontinue the service completely.

2. What services do you offer?
Brew-tiful Lines LLC specializes in draft line cleaning and maintenance, ensuring your systems are free from contaminants and delivering the highest quality beer to your customers. We also offer consultations on best practices for draft system management.

3. Why is line cleaning important?
Clean draft lines are crucial for maintaining the quality and flavor of your beer. Dirty lines can lead to off-flavors, spoilage, and even health risks, negatively affecting customer satisfaction, welfare, and your brand’s reputation.

4. How often should draft lines be cleaned?
Industry standards recommend cleaning draft lines every two weeks. After that time protein build-up and bacterial microbes will begin to impact your product.

5. What are the risks of not having my lines cleaned?
Neglecting to clean your draft lines can result in contamination, which may lead to off-flavors and spoilage. This can also pose liability issues, as improperly maintained systems can lead to consumer health risks. Improper handling of chemicals or failure to adequately flush chemicals from draft lines by your staff can also result in illness and even fatalities, increasing your liability and reputation risk.

6. What experience do you have in this industry?
